Our Director of Music, Lin Hong
Lin Hong, born in China, began to play the piano at the age of six. By age nine, his talent made him one of seven students in all of China to be accepted by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.Some highlights of his academic years include receiving a Fulbright Scholarship to attend the Aspen Summer Festival, winning the Grand Prize of the San Diego Symphony Young Artist Competition at 17, winning several international piano competitions, and receiving his Master of Music on a full scholarship to the Juilliard School.
In addition to his many European appearances, Lin Hong has given solo and chamber music recitals at Carnegie Recital Hall, Lincoln Center, The Juilliard School, NYU and Columbia University. His C.I.R. Trio made their debut at Alice Tully Hall in 2005.In addition to his position as Director of Music of United Church of Rockville Centre, Mr. Lin is also a staff pianist at The Juilliard School.
